We use this information solely to generate your benefits screening report and do not use it for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Service delivery: To generate your personalized benefits screening report and deliver your access code.
• Communications: To send you your access code, report delivery confirmation, and service-related notices via Resend/email.
• Future marketing communications: If you opt in, to send you information about our services, updates, or related resources. You may opt out at any time (see Section 7).
• Platform improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve the screening tool, website performance, and user experience.
• Legal compliance: To comply with applicable laws, respond to legal process, and enforce our Terms of Service.
• Fraud prevention: To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and misuse of our platform.

We do not use your information to make any automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. Our screening tool generates estimates for informational purposes only; all actual eligibility determinations are made by government agencies.

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 Service Providers

We share your information with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate our platform. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and may only use it as directed by us:

• Resend (email delivery): Name and email address for report and access code delivery
• Supabase (database hosting): Encrypted storage of user records
• Netlify (website hosting): Web server infrastructure and serverless function processing
• Google (Google Fonts, Google Workspace): Font delivery infrastructure and email communication; Google Fonts transmits visitor IP addresses to Google's servers as part of font loading

4.2 Participating Tax Preparers and Tax Software

Benefits Confidence is offered to you through a participating tax preparer or tax software provider. That provider shares with us the information needed to deliver your report (such as your name and email address) and confirmation that your purchase was completed. We do not share your screening results or the sensitive financial information you enter in the questionnaire with your tax preparer or tax software provider unless you choose to share your report with them yourself.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency request). We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of such requests where permitted by law.

4.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on our website before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5.1 What We Use

• Google Fonts: Our website loads fonts from Google's servers, which transmits your IP address to Google as part of that request. No behavioral tracking or analytics data is collected through this service.

• Screening input data (income, household): Retained for the duration of your access period (up to 6 months from access code issuance) plus 12 months, then deleted or anonymized.
• Email communications: Retained for 3 years.

You may request earlier deletion of your data subject to legal retention obligations (see Section 7).

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 All Users

Regardless of where you live, you have the following rights:

• Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate information.
• Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Marketing opt-out: You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or contacting us directly at support@benefitsconfidence.com.

7.2 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

If you are a Colorado resident, you have rights under the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), including the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal data, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising and profiling. If we deny your request, you may appeal by contacting us at support@benefitsconfidence.com with the subject line "Privacy Rights Appeal." If your appeal is denied, you may contact the Colorado Attorney General at coag.gov.

7.4 Other State Residents

Residents of Virginia (VCDPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Texas (TDPSA), and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights. 8. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information, including:

• Database access controls with Row Level Security (RLS) enforced at the database level
• Server-side processing of eligibility logic and access code validation (sensitive data not exposed client-side)
• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission
• Limited access to personal data on a need-to-know basis

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and interests, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

Benefits Confidence is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.
